Real life begins at the moment of death

Real life begins at the moment of death

-----------------------------

The Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, made a dua during the battle of Khandaq saying - اللهُمَّ لَا عَيْشَ إِلَّا عَيشُ الْاخِرَهْ فَاغْفرْ لِلْمُهَاجِريْينَ وَالأَنْسَارِ - "O Allah! There is no real life except the Hereafter. Forgive the Muhajir and the Ansar."

Today we live in a time when sudden death has become a very common occurrence. People are suddenly dying. Sometimes people are dying at a very young age.

Even today, many people are seen who do not get serious about religion before reaching the last age of life. It seems as if he is guaranteed to live that long. "Now, enjoy my youth. Let me do what other teenagers do." Even at this age, there is no tension between him about the possibility of death. "Let me do what other college boys and girls do." He forgets about death. You want to enjoy life early. At my last age I will retire and become serious about Dharma Karma. Now enjoy life. Why does this happen? Because, such a thought works in our mind that life should be enjoyed at the beginning. I have to enjoy my life while I still have the energy.

However, our Prophet (PBUH) said - "There is no real life except the Hereafter." By which he is indicating that life actually begins from the moment of death. Your true life begins at the moment of death.

Keep this thought in mind and study the Quran. Allah Ta'ala says - مَنْ عَمِلَ صَالِحًا مِّّ ذَكَرٍ اَوۡ انُثٰی وَ هُوَ مُثامِنٌ فَلَنُۡیِیَنَّهٗ حَیٰوۃً طَیِّبَۃً - "Whoever of men and women does good deeds and is a believer, I will surely give him a good life." (16:97) The best life here is the Hereafter.

The opposite picture is presented in Suratul Fajr. “When the earth will be completely crushed, and when your Lord will come and the angels will come in rows, and the Hellfire will be brought forth on that day, then man will remember, but what will that benefit him? He will say, 'Alas! If only I had sent something earlier for my life'!”

Then he will say - يٰلَیْتَنِیۡ قَدَّمۡتُ لِحَیَاتِیۡ - Alas! If for the life of me I'd sent something to share earlier! Then he would not say this, if I had enjoyed the life of the world! Because at that moment we will fully understand the hadith of Rasoolullah (SAW) - "There is no life except the Hereafter."

It does not make you a pessimist if you live your life preparing for death from the beginning. I would rather say, it makes you a much more optimistic person.

Because you are preparing for something that is absolutely certain and absolutely true. Everything you prepare for in this earthly life has some form of uncertainty. We know from our own experience or from newspapers, how many people die in car accidents on their way to their weddings. How many people have waited years for something, then died just before they got it? For example, how many people die moments before attending graduation ceremonies.

Therefore, this worldly life is only a period of preparation for the real life. What we now call life is just a depository. I am now in honest work bank. Submitting my rewards. That's all.

So, no rush to enjoy everything in this worldly life works in me anymore. I have to live a most enjoyable life - no tension works in me anymore.

Do you know? I may not be able to visit all the beautiful places in the world, but by the grace of Allah I will see Paradise. I may not meet such and such a person. But by Allah's will, I know that if I can accumulate good deeds correctly then I will meet Rasoolullah (SAW) in Hauze Kausar. Its name is life. Its name is life. I look forward to it.

I may not be able to repair my house nicely or buy a house here; I may not be able to buy a car. But I know for sure, if I can accumulate good deeds correctly, then my grave will become a garden of Paradise. Because there is no life except the Hereafter.

On that day I do not want to be like him who will say - "Ya laitani kaddamtuli hayatii - alas! If only I had sent something in advance for my life!" I would rather be like him who on the Day of Resurrection will take his deeds in his right hand and say -اِنِّیۡ ظَنَنْتُ اَنِّیۡ مُلٰقٍ حِسَابِیَهۡ - I knew that I would have to face my reckoning.
